Who are Knock?

Knock are a grinder company based in Edinburgh, which makes their products extra special to us. They make extremely good grinders, that we have sold for some time now. We class them right up there with the Comandante's of this world.

What is the Aergrind?

The Aergrind has proved itself to be one of the best professional hand grinders in the world. Now in its 5th variation, it's as solid and slick as ever, with what we see as the ultimate in refinement of an already amazing product.

It's Knock's smallest, portable grinder that is probably their most popular product to date. It's compact, high quality, easy to use and fits inside an Aeropress. It grinds to a very uniform consistency with a range from espresso to filter and lots in between. It is stepless, meaning it adjusts very smoothly, and not limited to pre-defined grind settings.

What's new about the latest Aergrind?

- Cleaner Adjustments – The grind dial is on top, so your fingers stay clean while changing settings.

What Knock say about the latest version:

Key technical features start with 38mm VMacino TiN coated gold conical burrs for competition level grind consistency and a step up in burr class. Inside the grinder, we've increased the axle bearing length by 100% to provide even greater stability and improved alignment. The refreshed profile of the crank arm is now 20% thicker at 3mm.

The design refinements continue with a move away from plastic to a larger, walnut wood knob; a snap-on magnetic lid with laser etched precision aluminium dial; and a custom threaded "screw on" lower tube, profiled to provide a controlled pour for your precious coffee grounds.

But most importantly some things have not changed - the Aergrind is still designed to partner perfectly with the Aeropress, packing into the body of the brewer, with a crank arm and band that fit compactly around the body for the ultimate portable brew kits.

Italmill still powers the heart of the grind and it remains a supremely capable turkish and espresso tool thanks to the unique profile of these time-proven classic burrs.

Unlike other manual grinders where the grind adjustment is on the burrs, the Aergrind has a dial at the top of the grinder. This makes changing the grind easy and clean as your fingers don’t get covered in coffee.

Instead of using pre-set clicks, the grind adjustment is stepless which means that you have unlimited options on where to set your grind, giving you the best chance to maximise the flavour of your coffee.

All Aergrinds come with a spare black Aergrind band.
